Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis

Walking Day 25: 22 km, 5 hrs

The route out of Pontevedra was mostly level after the first gentle hill.

There were many pilgrim hikers and bicyclists on the trails and at the bars. We walked and talked for several kilometers with a couple of young women from the US and Austria. After arriving in Caldas de Reis we performed the obligatory soak in the warm lavadero termal in a traditional lavanderia structure.

In addition to the "captured" thermal springs in town, hot springs also flow into the Rio Umia. There is a permanent water polo "pitch" in the river, upstream of the main bridge. In addition to the very unusual vegetation in and around the river, there are signs warning that fish caught from the river are poisonous and can cause death.

And whom should we meet again at the end of the day's hike? Kata!
