Ansiao to Condeixa-a-Nova

Walking Day 9: 29 km, 7.5 hrs

Back to the grueling longer distance days, but with diversions...

At the 26 km point was the archaeological site for Roman town of Conimbriga. It was well worth the stop. There were literally acres of mosaic tile floors, temples, a forum, shops, and both grand and common homes. Much more extensive than the mosaics at the Roman Villa del Casale near our old home in Sicilia.

Condeixa is actually two towns. Condeixa-a-Velha (the old) and Condeixa-a-Nova (the new). Right next to each other, with no separation. Why? That’s a research topic.
