Golega to Tomar

Walking Day 6: 29 km, 8 hrs

Paul wasn’t able to walk this day due to severe blisters, and took a cab to Tomar. I hoofed it….

There were very heavy rain showers around Atalaia, just prior to the point where the Camino left the paved roads and headed into and across a large forested area.

I met Kata again, and we discussed how Brierley’s guide book directions differed between our respective editions. After agreeing on the route we headed off onto the muddy wooded trails.

Tomar is a beautiful and historic city. The Templar castle sitting high above the city is very impressive. And Tomar was full of people on the plazas and in the restaurants on a Saturday evening.
